Autoradiography with OSL Materials (197)

Problem: Need improved image recording media for gene sequencing and other autoradiographic applications

OSL Phosphor and Image Plates OSL Phosphor and Image Plates

Project Activity Scope (from Technical Overview Chart):
Mechanisms through Sensors & Devices

PNNL Solution:

  • Developed high sensitivity OSL materials for autoradiographic applications
  • Produced radiographic "plates" that are flexible for unusual geometries with acceptable sensitivities
  • Plates are reusable
  • Demonstrated readout systems

Capabilities Employed to Meet Client Needs: Material science; radiation effects of materials; material characterization; laser based measurements for material evaluation; controlled radiation exposures; test planning, performance, and analysis.
