Bio-Organism Stability in Natural Conditions (167)

Wind Tunnel Laboratory Wind Tunnel Laboratory

Problem: Need to determine stability of biological organisms in a controlled environment that simulates natural conditions

Project Activity Scope (from Technical Overview Chart): Sensors & Devices through Integrated Systems

PNNL Solution:

  • Key variables affecting airborne organism stability: co-present chemicals & concentrations, temperature, humidity, aerosols, wind velocity, artificial sunlight, etc.
  • PNNL wind tunnel allows direct control of these variables in single pass or recirculating operation
  • Facility has complementary lab & instruments for test monitoring

Capabilities Employed to Meet Client Needs (additional description): Test planning; test performance; instrumentation system setup; wind tunnel condition programming; data analysis.
