Sensor Array Color Analysis for Biosensing (1)

Problem: Determine chemiluminescent sensor array color signatures to rapidly identify microorganisms

Project Activity Scope (from Technical Overview Chart): Interaction Mechanisms through Measurement & Analysis System Applications

PNNL Solution:

• Determined color signatures of sensor arrays exposed to reference organisms & to unknown organism
• Established unique signature features for reference organisms
• Identified unknown organism by matching its signature to reference data with advanced analysis methods

Capabilities Employed to Meet Client Needs: Electro-optical system design; digital image processing; video/digital cameras; colorimetry/radiometry; electronics, computer engineering; software development; microbiology; biochemistry.
