Problem: Need real-time analysis of nuclear detector array data for deployment in handheld, fieldable instrument.

PNNL Solution:
- Developed rapid, efficient data analysis software based on Compton imaging algorithms
- Implemented code on compact, low power FPGA platform
- Tested performance with simulated events early in design cycle
- Integrated FPGA with balance of system for practical application
