Controlled Environment Greenhouse (348)
Problem: Need a controlled environment (air, water, etc.) for testing sensors and instruments and for controlled experiments
Project Activity Scope (from Technical Overview Chart): Sensors and Devices through Integrated Systems
PNNL Solution:
- Built an atmospherically controlled greenhouse plumbed with both freshwater and seawater
- Allows direct control of important environmental variables (e.g., air and water temperature, lighting [above ambient], salinity, water flow)
- Interior may be reconfigured to meet specific project requirements
Capabilities Employed to Meet Client Needs: Test planning, test performance, instrumentation system setup, and data analysis. (Additional information.)
