Problem: Need sensors/instruments suitable for integration into an on-line, automated, field deployed oil analysis system

PNNL Solution:
- Evaluate commercial sensor options to meet measurement requirements for oil condition and contaminants, and wear indicators
- Identify commercial sensors suitable for on-line use to measure a number of the key parameters
- Determine suitable commercial sensors are not available for several key measurements
Capabilities Employed to Meet Client Needs: Knowledge of military and industrial oil/lubricant monitoring programs; understanding of sensor technologies for range of measurement requirements; sensor testing and evaluation including assessment of applicability for on-line, on-board use.
