Problem: Provide control system for remote operation of equipment installed in hostile environments.

PNNL Solution:

• Determined full range of control needed to meet mission requirement
• Developed control system including actuators, sensors, & user I/O
• Assembled system & verified operation before equipment went "remote"
• Deployed for remote operation
• Supported deployment as needed

Capabilities Employed to Meet Client Needs: Requirements analysis; review and selection of COTS equipment suitable for system use; component procurement; optics analysis; integrated equipment design including electrical, mechanical, and video functions; operating and control software development; assembly and operational validation prior to hot cell installation; equipment deployment; remote operation validation; system documentation.
