Problem: Need assessment of SCADA system security vulnerability to allow development of effective solutions.

PNNL Solution:
- Review SCADA and communication system design and technology
- Conduct thorough system assessment (i.e. data security, unauthorized control events, etc.) to identify security vulnerabilities
- Commonly exploited vulnerabilities
- System specific and emerging vulnerabilities
Capabilities Employed to Meet Client Needs: Leveraged PNNL staff with: expertise in SCADA system design and operation, SCADA system security measures and vulnerabilities/threats, cyber security threats and mitigation methods, power systems.
