Passive RF Tag Summary (292)
Passive Tag Background:
Passive tags have no on-board battery and they provide short communication ranges (1-5 meters) with no capability to perform monitoring or control. These tags have a low data bandwidth. These tags can not initiate communications, they must be read.
Application Dependent Customizable Features:
- Frequency band — 915MHz (ISM1) and 2450MHz (ISM2).
- Power management — not required — there is no battery on the tags.
- Encryption algorithms less important since tag does not transmit, it only controls reflection of RF back to reader.
