PNNL Solution:
- Developed radio data link concept based on commercial components
- Designed and built prototype sensor interface and data telemetry modules
- Performed lab and field tests of data link modules with multiple sensors
- Transferred design to client for commercialization
Capabilities Employed to Meet Client Needs: Radio frequency (RF) field theory for antenna design and field propagation; analog and digital electronics design; surface mount electronics development; prototype RF telemetry module design, fabrication, and evaluation; power conservation circuitry; mechanical design for weather survivable packaging; lab testing; test planning and analysis; documentation of technical basis and results.
